If you are looking for a GREAT CD-ROM (inside)

How loud is the Asus DVD? I bought there 52x CDROM b/c I heard so many great things about it, but it was SO damn loud. I took it back a week later, I couldn't stand it.

Alpha PAL8942 ?

I have the 8045 and when I set it to suck (installed it blowing), it dropped load and idle temps 1-2C. Alpha designs it to suck (hehe), so do it that way.

I would shut down your pc right now and reseat your HSF. Make sure it has a very thin layer of thermal grease and it making good contact.

Need case suggestions

I'd recommend the Antec Performance Plus660 case. Plenty of room and not too big, great ps, and good ventilation :)

Getting a present got my Mom for Mothers day, need suggestions on sound cards

Fortissmo II, TB Santa Cruz, and Phillips Accoustic Edge are all great cards. I'm currently running the TBSC. I think it's gonna be hard to find a good card now that doesn't have all the options etc. Just find the cheapest one out of the ones mentioned here and get it.

8045 w/ L1A hands down. If it won't fit on your mobo, check out the AX-7. If you want to overclock just get an M1A and your set. You can eve do some light overclocking with the L1A if you wanted to.

GryphonsClaw were do base this assumption? Maxtor drives are very high quality. The IBM 75GXP is notorioius for failure and a lot of people have lost trust in IBM. IBM is even stopping there business in the HD market. But anyways, you might wanna download the utility (forgot the name) that...

Tons of Hammer/Hammer mobo pics @ AMD Zone w/writeup

Anyone else notice the clipping mechanism on the HSF? It was just two screws holding it down, wouldn't that be easier to do than using a screw driver they way it's not suppose to be used :D EDIT: I just read it, nm.
