Moved from 3x Asus Swift 144hz 1440p to 4k60 HDR on a 55" Samsung Q7F....I'm never going back to the 1440p.
If you can run 4k60 HDR actually at 60fps it is a thing of beauty on a decent sized screen...bring on the nvidia 60" version I say.. because 120hz gsync at that res and size WILL BE EPIC.
I can totally see your point and it doesn't look like the performance could be there.
But I'd like to counterpoint with that there weren't that many architectural improvements that got the 1070 To 980ti level performance. That was almost entirely die shrink.
Perhaps architecture is where the...
By "discrete graphics" I assume you are referring to the GPU cores on an APU.
So you have to understand this IS a cut down GPU die that first appeared on dedicated cards.
Very roughly, these have been shrunk sufficiently and given a new memory interface to fit into the same package as the CPU...
Just to clarify, is the frame rate choppy or the image distorted in some way?
Unfortunately a 940mx is unlikely to have the grunt for satisfactory 1080p gaming at reasonable settings.
If frame rate is the issue you may try lowering resolution to 720p, however it will have scaling issues on a...
Working just fine on Gigabyte P57 with optimus, but I suppose this may not always be the case.
*Edit: It may be that the hdmi on the P57 is routed directly from the dGPU and you are totally correct.
This is going to be expensive.
You are going to have to purchase a gfx card to put into that enclosure and I would recommend nothing less that a 1070 although you could get away with a 1060 6gb in a pinch or AMD equivalent (580+?).
Looks like your laptop has a dedicated 1050ti which probably...
Is this a sign of confidence from Nvidia that they expect 4k >60fps performance to be solidly delivered with the next gen of gpus?
I firmly believe this is going to be the case as the 1080ti is tantalizingly close to realizing this already.
Either way, sign me up.
What I didn't actually cover in the above post is what I really LIKE about it.
At 4k it is far easier to resolve fine texture detail at distance. Threads in cloth textures, fine stonework and that sort of thing are all much more defined at medium distance. The increase in detail is immense over...
So I have been running 3x Asus swift (1440p 144Hz gsync) since mid 2015 and really had an itch to check out 4k hdr.
I ended up with a Samsung Q7F 55" that I've pushed back an extra foot on my desk (it's still a little large for my taste however).
I thought the 60hz no adaptive sync would...
So I absolutely swear by adaptive sync, I really do and have since I went gsync a fair while ago.
But just last week I really wanted to see what 4k hdr was all about so I grabbed a Samsung Q7F 55" and chucked it on my 108080Ti knowing full well it would be 60Hz no adaptive sync.
I slapped on...
Could this be an exceptionally terrible way of introducing GV104 at premium prices?
I mean surely nv is itching to get those titan margins on xx80 level chips.
Yeah those temps are pretty low, but not absurdly so.
I think I peak at around 36ish running a 480 and thick 360 rad.
What radiator/fan config are you using?
Very nice.....
Raw power. But specifically for high resolutions: Pixel fill rate. Lots of fill rate.
This used to be calculated by ROP's x clock rate but not sure if this still holds true...
There is a known issue with a model of the power bricks supplied with this monitor (the square shaped one's). I have had to replace all 3 of mine with the rectangular models available for about 30 bucks on ebay.
However the issue I was facing was the monitor refusing to power up after extended...
