Hi guys,
I haven't posted here in a really long time but definitely could use some opinions and advice on a new job and network I have inherited. I started recently and Monday I would like to present some ideas to my boss, the CTO.
The previous network/systems admin and IT manager was...
Don't skip 3 if you've seen the series. It completes it.
Trust me, I've seen 1 and 2 over 20 times combined. I was ecstatic that somebody wanted to pay for the ticket a day in advance for me.
Now I feel like I need to buy an f-ing Audi.
Maybe it was me screaming "I love the f-ing Germans"...
Mama's is expensive (but good). I would recommend Paia Fish Market instead to save money, it's essentially the same food.
Also, La Perouse Bay and the national reserve on the southwestern side of the island is one of the BEST areas of the island that is easily accessable.
-- Been to Maui...
I saw it yesterday @ 8PM due to the Audi Event near my dealer. It was fun, they paid for everything which was nice. I believe they rented out the theater. Popcorn lady said they spent $6/mil for the events across the country.
The movie is good but different than 1 and 2 in a lot of ways...
Exactly. This is how my current company works. It's also how most companies work in Europe.
Employees should be seen as a long term investment, not replaceable due to a very limited stressful event that most people are going to go through at one point or another in their life.
The VP had...
Ya think? I'm not going to go posting on the Internet how a VP of a large corporation got fired, OR the details of mine either.
I never said neither of us weren't at fault, but the company certainly could've respected our tenure more and realized people go through rough patches in their lives.
It wasn't really awkward. No idea why I added that. It was great to see him.
He was going through a divorce when he got fired, and then a year passed, and I was about to get married, and I got fired. That's how they were related. We were both under a lot of stress and the "big wigs/HR"...
I live off of Gyros. Wouldn't have ran into him otherwise. LOL
Gyros, and any Irish food. The Irish food I get because I'm half -- the Gyros, I have no idea.
But I almost cried when I saw him. You have to know an old school cable guy, to understand.
Otherwise you'll just think I'm weird.
Sitting at a local Gyro joint right by my new job with my gf, and in walks my old Senior VP of Engineering (three levels above my old boss) and we talk for a good 15-20 minutes.
We both got fired under almost the exact same circumstances. One of those irony is a bitch kind of days.
He had...
Well that makes it easy to resolve... LOL
Since mine is working like a champ, I'm not going to even check.
But thank you sir for the heads up, much appreciated! Things like this are always good to post.
Networking 101
You have WiFi congestion
Switch to a 5Ghz channel only and try different channels with net stumbler.
Hack your router to increase the output power.
Or, use a fricking CAT6 cable like anybody who actually cares about network reliability.
If you had a problem at your node...
