What services are your servers running? DNS? WINS (only for backwards compatibility)?
From what little AD experience I have, most of the problems I've seen like that was caused by DNS problems. Of course I have a mix of machines here ranging from 98 to XP.
I would check your DNS...
I'm considering buying a duplex also. My uncle owned a duplex for 20+ years and his sister (my aunt) has owned one for 10 years.
You have to be able to judge people fairly well or you can get screwed. My uncle is fairly straight forward and confrontational. He had hardly any problems...
WinXP can do a mb swap and still go on. I know because my machine at home had the OS installed on a Asus A8V (via chipset) mb and it is currently running on a MSI K8N Neo2 platinum (nVidia chipset.)
The reason I tried this was because I had already had a different mb installed and it...
You can't really think like that can you? That is the same thing as saying that if we had a finite supply of food left on the planet, you would think it is just fine to eat twice what other people do? Just because you can afford to? Now it is a bit different seeing as a large percentage of...
Well, when you go into the settings for Outlook (at least the way we have it set up) you usually have an option to show profiles. At that point you can delete the profile and create a new on.
When you change settings in Outlook, how do you usually do it? From the tools menu in outlook or...
No, I mean the profile for Outlook. Of course the whole windows profile would include the outlook profile.
The reason I delete the Outlook profile and deleted is that I changed the server but when the sync windows popped up, it still had the old server name on it. so I just deleted the...
I probably don't have a fix for you, but I had a very similar issue with our new Exchange 2k3. I just recreated the users profile. Have you tried that?
I have a very similar problem. I have four cmx512-3200c2 corsair XMS dimms. I can only get two to work. If I have four in it tells me that "the system failed to boot due to cpu overclocking." I'm not at home but right now but when I get a chance I will try manually setting the ram to 333mhz...
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obi...p;s=books&n=507846
This is the book I have. It does a good job of covering the basics. Of course, I don't actually have windows 2k3 yet, I'm still waiting for the new servers to get here. But I have read through the book and it seems to be good.
what is the budget for this? Will you need room to expand in the future? I'm about to buy an EMC AX100 with 1TB storage. Well, after RAID 5 it will be a little less than 750GB. It has room for up to 3TB. (12 X 250G SATA drives)
It connects to any ole server via a HBA fiber card. (up to...
I've seen a very similar problem with Illustrator files. I fixed it by right clicking on an Illustrator file, choosing properties and then under the "generate thumbnails" tab, I turn off the generate thumbnails.
Of course, you would need to determine if a certain file type is causing your...
