i have swapped one before it requires a reflash of the PCM for it to work at all, it wont even start. some shops are capable of doing the reflash to but they have to purchase the programming tools and software to do so.
-Check out the part that you yourself quoted-
The part you quote in the book says nothing about the strut itself being wore out, it is the mounting and whether it is bent, nothing about wore out he did not really specify the exact condition of his struts.
Welcome to newer cars and their electrical nightmares. The CD player is probably on its way out, pretty common thing on these cars. The HUD is what you are talking about i think, first thing would be to check the fuse on it. It could be something to do with the body module not allowing the...
Where i am a safety inspector, in Missouri, you are not allowed to fail a car for a "bad strut." If that was so, i could fail damn near every car that goes through my shop, nobody seems to change them. The steel showing tire on the other hand would fail.
Below threshold could be 5% less than what the computer thinks it should be performing at. The second 02 sensors on these cars only monitor how clean out going air is from the exhaust, if it was me i would just drive it, but the engine light wont drive me insane like it does most people. Make...
This is true most of the time automatics fail more to design flaws while the manuals are usually more driver's error tearing it up. however there are a couple manuals that had design flaws too, that skew that argument a little. The Suzuki swifts had much better autos in them than the manuals...
applying anti seize to a already coated plug is not the best thing to do, it can cause the plug to be over tightened, even when torqued, and put it too far into the head and cause the threads to strip out. Dont use anti seize on a coated plug, people get blown out plugs on the fords all the time...
Go to the store and get some berry man's carb cleaner. Get the stuff in the aerosol can. spray it on there wait a few seconds and it should wipe right off. I own an inspection station in missouri and you can not pass inspection with tint on your lights, the carb cleaner has cleaned paint or tint...
I work on cars all day long, and trust me they can be very difficult to remove.
just cut the wire right at the sensor and use a regular socket to remove it, the sensor socket probably wont work. Also about %50 of the time i have to use heat/torch to remove old ones. Being that your car isnt even...
you can clear coat it to get a gloss finish but it becomes much harder to remove. In my experience dont try to use any of the neon colors they wont cover anything, black is great.
I second this, i have two currently a 87 and a 2000 model and they are good cars, parts are cheap, and parts are everywhere, they ride good and they are solid cars
/the GM oil life monitors have been found to not be even close to correct. They are damaging engines and sludging them up. also syn-blend oils dont help might as well use conventional
Don't worry about the o2 sensor problem until you have to pass emissions again. It is just a bunch of crap to get people back to the dealers to have work done' oh and to monitor how clean its running. This is coming from an auto technician. Most people are very bothered by the light being on but...
