onboard sound stopped working

Well, did you check all of your volume controls to make sure none of them were muted? Otherwise maybe reinstall the drivers, or do a system restore if it's worth the trouble.

System process uses 50% CPU, then system locks up

Well it hasn't happened again so far, since I turned off Automatic Updates

System process uses 50% CPU, then system locks up

My system (XP) will be running fine, when all of a sudden the system process starts using about 50% of my CPU, and then programs start locking up, and the more I do the more the system locks up until I have to push the reset button. Things I've done lately are updating the BIOS and wi-fi...

When exactly is it giving the error, does the setup screen come up at all? And is the BIOS giving the error or is it the XP installation?

The ASUS CrashFree BIOS Utility is supposed to recover from that situation but who knows how well it works. Have you tried booting with the motherboard support CD? Page 4-8 in the manual. Might as well try everything you can before RMAing.

I overclocked my E6600 to 3.04Ghz (380*8) so far without any problems, except when I cold start it, it powers up and shuts off and powers up again right away, anyone know what the deal is with that? Otherwise it boots and runs fine at 49C idle and 54C load with a Zalman cooler. When I tried...

Which raid array is right for me?

Question about bad RAM

I think it is unlikely that bad RAM would corrupt anything on disk, a CRC error would indicate that the data is getting corrupted as it is getting loaded into RAM. Meaning that the data wasn't received correctly from the disk to the RAM, but nothing on the disk should've changed.

New build not working

My first guess would be a bad motherboard. But you should probably try other things before replacing it, like clearing the CMOS, and if you have any spare parts, try those.

Non Stop Crashing in Games

Sounds like it is the motherboard. I doubt it's the PSU, but possible I suppose, and it would be cheaper and easier to replace

New system, no video/beeps on boot *FIXED*

Got my replacement board today, same model. I hooked everything up, used the Celeron CPU first, it booted right up. So, so far it looks like it was a bad motherboard. I'll try the E6600 later. And the E6600 works too \o/

Update on my situation: Got the replacement board today, hooked everything up, with the Celeron first. It booted right up. So I'll put in the E6600 later and hopefully that'll work too. (It did)

New machine, no beep or video

The core 2 duo chips don't have pins on the CPU, just flat points, the pins are in the socket, and the socket is keyed so it's not easy to install it wrong. I would try some other RAM that is slower/cheaper and on the quality vendor list, some people with the no boot/video problem have made...

This has been happening to quite a few people with the P5B Deluxe, including me. I have already RMA'd the board and am waiting for a replacement. I'm not positive that's the problem, but everything I tried wouldn't fix it. Other people with the problem haven't posted any fixes for it either...

C2d system hangs after a few hours

That's messed up, I'd try disabling your antivirus and other startup programs and see if it still happens. Also take a look at your Event Viewer (control panel - administrative tools) to see if there's anything suspicious.
