Had the same thing on a Compaq laptop. Woud not load USB drivers from any device. I wiped and reloaded and that fixed it. I know that is extreem but the laptop was full of HP/Compaq crapware also. Not only did it fix the USB problem the comuter is much snapper now!

I play FPS in Vista X64 no problem I use a Razer sound card. Doing just as well as I was in XP LOL. You just don't need hardware acceleration in my opinion. BTW I will put in a plug for the Razer AC-1 a wonderful sound card.
Leave Creative behind as Vista does not support hardware sound acceleration. I picked up a Razer AC-1 on Woot.com for $50. The best Sound Card I have ever owned. they have the drivers for Vista X64 and work with no problems. Just my 2 cents.
