Can you plug a USB 1.1 port into an Asus P4B533 internal USB 2.0 connector?

Same connector, same type of cable : the "USB" port on your case is just a USB port (hence, 1.1 and 2.0); it's not specific. So, it only depends on the controller (on your motherboard) and the peripheral connected to the port : it's the same "hardware" in between... ;)

I can't decide NForce or KT333? Comments/Suggestions Please!

Reading your post, I get the impression that you are on a tight budget. For this situation, the ECS K7S5A is probably the most popular (and inexpensive) board with support for PC133 SDRAM; AND it supports DDR SDRAM as well... It's not an overclocker's board, but it does provide room for future...

And I re-second that as well ! If ya can't wait : get a KT333 based mobo (good and inexpensive one like a basic MSI KT3 Ultra), get the RAM + CPU you listed. Then, when they come out, swap to a Nforce2 board (if you feel, by then, that the reviews gave you reasons to wait) an keep the MSI as...

KT333 and Sound Cards - any incompatibilities that I should be aware of?

Answering your original question : Nope ! No incompatibilities on KT333 based Biostar boards (or any other brands I'm aware of). Of course, make sure to disable whatever integrated sound comes with your particular board in BIOS. As for the sound card suggestions : Turtle Beach Santa Cruz...

KT3 Ultra vs KT3 Ultra2 (new sound chip)

I am wondering with the R9700 a 88% increase in frame rates of 17 fps in a game at 1600x1200 is what ? Only 32 fps ?

The debate shouldn't be about "which card will offer better FPS" ! It should be about "how much of a performance hit will you get while enabling high details/FSAA/AF" ! (actually, how little of a performance hit...) That's where the upcoming cards will do well : natively supporting features...

AMD T-bird 1 Ghz vs. XP 1500+

Actually, the Volcano II is rated up for the T-bird @ 1.4GHz, which runs hotter than the same frequency XP 1600+ ( = 1.4GHz)... Get the 1600+ without any fear ! :cool:

Advice: PC2100 or PC2700?

Basically, you won't be able to tell the difference in daily use. The Athlon FSB doesn't use more bandwidth than PC2100 provides. The only advantage to go PC2700 now is if you want to plan for the future and/or overclocking... Is 3-5% better performance worth the 50$ to you ? Or a few more...

Strange power problem

Well : Allied, Enermax, Delta, Lite-On, Fortron, Sparkle (and even Antec) will do fine; Antec does have quite a good reputation for quality. So, it's really a question of the current available to the +12V rail for your particular situation. Shop around !

Computer won't run Xp at more than 100mhz!

This is most likely a problem with your WinXP OS itself. I had the same problem with NT 4.0 on my old laptop last month, and Win2k on my main machine about 3 months ago. Try to re-install it (a full clean install) at 100 FSB, then move up to 133FSB. Nothing else seemed to correct the...

Laptop SODIMM RAM -- EDO vs SDRAM?

... indeed, and EDO RAM isn't compatible with newer SODIMMs. They are all "144 pins", but with different pin/voltage configuration; common mistake. I hope your store will exchange your newer RAM for some EDO.
