I have the M6810 with radeon 9600 built in. I use omega drivers from http://www.omegadrivers.net/
Also, you can extract the driver from the restore cd that came with the system.

Well, ATITool will run forever if you let it. Keep an eye on the clock that shows how long it's been running without errors. When it encounters an error it restarts the clock and stops overclocking. So if you've been running 10 minutes and it says 3 minutes then you found the very limit and...
Just found a pretty neat utility called rmclock. It can change your max and min multipliers and voltages from default values and auto regulate them. I'm running mine along with omega drivers which will lower the gpu and vid memory speeds. I can get about 3:30 out of my batteries this way. Still...
I've been using a wpa on my M6810 for about 4 months now. Seems to work great with the occasional loss of connection and immediate reconnection. Mildly irritating at worst.
Since the K8T800 chipset doesn't have locked pci/agp multipliers it is very sensitive to front side bus overclocking. Most systems can handle 10-15% OVERclock but even 5% UNDERclock is usually enough to crash them. It's just part of the design.
I bet the gateway machine feels faster because of the drive they used. It's probably a 5400 vs a regular 4200.
I'm thinking about exchanging my m6810 for that 7405GX. It's alot nicer with the XBrite screen, 80GB, and DVDRW for pretty much the same price.

Theres a program called A64Tweaker. Basically you download the correct components for the K8T800 chipset used by the A64Tweaker program and use a menu to select a slower(or faster ;) ) speed.

No there is no inf for the monitor. I tried to bring up driver details in the Display Properties and it said "No driver files are required or have been loaded for this device."
Overclocking update, vide only goes to 348core/236mem which pulled 10870 3dmarks. Its acceptable I suppose.

I just bought a M6810 from Best Buy. I'm an employee and got a great deal ($1385) plus a $100 rebate :P .
It's a great desktop replacement. Batteries last about 2:45 for me. Plenty of power for programming, gaming, school etc. I'm starting the overclock phase of testing and will report back...
Hmm thats interesting about the performance. I'm sure it's a great card, I loved my 9500 pro when I had one. But there are better cards to be had now, and for less money even. It looked like a good deal at first but I'll keep shopping (or wait til the REAL 9800Pros come down to $175 :) )
