I want to thank bsobel for actually giving a reason behind why i'm SOL, instead of just saying that and leaving me high adn dry. I obviously don't know a great deal about encryption, and he's right that seeing that data and knowing its there is just salt in the wound. I only have two choices...

I'm really surprised, i thought this of all places would be able to offer atleast some "risky" ways of recovering data. But no, most of you have adapted to "Oh well, thats that attitude" Thanks anyway, i'll keep looking elsewhere.

Yeah, i get the point of encryption, thats not too hard. What i am asking is if anyone knows a way around it. A flaw perhaps? Or some trick of the trade? There isn't a single protection out there that doesn't have a flaw, i just want to know if any body has figured it out. Like what about a dos...

Yes, i should have, but i didn't. I didn't even know exactly how the encryption worked. When i envoked it, it was just to keep others from looking at the data on this local machine and over the net. I thought it was just basically a "hide" feature more or less. Now i know its more.

It seems i'm limited to Simple Sharing?

Well, i'm trying to share accross my little Lan, and i set permissions, played with services and all that jazz (following many guides). All the time, i was required to sign in. So i enabled fiel sharing, then disabled it, and everything works like a gem.... WTF!?!?!? I just want to know what it...

CLANG! and other strange noises from the computer Vol. 2

Well, i'm pretty sure of it. But i'd like a second opinion. While formatting a second drive (a maxtor DX740 i think). it suddenly made this horrible clanging noise as though it where banging against its casing. We turned off the computer and back on, it can no longer be found on the Raid.... I...

It really bugs me that Firewire drivers for the Asus A7V333 motherboard are no where to be found on the Asus website or CD. Does anyone know where they may be? also, we have a firewire problem where the device has taken an IP address we need in Windows XP, but we can't change it cause it isn't...

Going Going..... Nope, false alarm

We tried installing the VIA Drivers and it messed up Windows Bad (BSOD). So if there is any info on that, it would be great. The Video card and teh Sound card were left overs from another computer... saved us some money, though we know they are overkill for a server. Going to try a few other...

Dead MoBo!!! :( (A7V333)

Ok..... well... um.... how can i prove that its fried? Seems like it was working just fine... then we flashed the BIOS, it stopped working, we waited a week put a new one in and it didn't work... that seems kind of random for it to just die.
