I got a new(old but new to me) riding mower

You should be fine in using any name brand 10W30 oil as long as that is what it calls for. You should also do a cross reference check on the oil filter if there is one, as JD replacement filters could be 2x to 3x the price of an equivalent filter from an auto parts store or walmart.

PC restarts instead of Shutdown

This is probably a long shot, but how are you connected to a monitor? I had a PC and when it was connected to a monitor's HDMI input it would do the same thing.

DirecTV Negotiating - anyone had luck?

I agree with Marlin1975. Call back until you get a rep that is willing to deal. I am a long term DirecTV subscriber and I said I was going to switch to UVerse and they upgraded my standard DVR to HD-DVR, gave me free HD programming for 1-year, and they knocked $10 off per month for 12 months...

Ballpark on paint job?

Yes, I saw that body work was not needed or wanted. I was just stating facts that the labor for body work and prep is not cheap. I know I don't get bulk/volume pricing, but quality is expensive. Price out HOK or PPG products some time, it adds up. So alchemyst, how many cars have you painted?

Just like everything, you get what you pay for. I will not argue that you can't get a paint job for $1500 to $3000, but it will be with low end products that will lack long-term durability and it most likely will not include much (if any) bodywork. It really depends what your plans are for the...

Bignate603 is right on the money with his reply about older cars. While I may not have the safest, fastest, or best handling car, I'm sure I get more "thumbs up" in my '65 Mustang than any WXR ever will. Hemmings.com is a nice site to visit and checkout prices for many cars.

How to get rid of paint streak from a pole?

You want polishing compound, not rubbing compound. Rubbing compound is more abrasive than polishing compound. It might take more effort to remove the marks with polilshing compound, but you will have less chance of making the problem worse.
