I also replace the Power suppy with one from a AMD 450Mhz (less power) same problem occurs with only power to the motherboard.
Any ideas on what could of happened to the motherboard? Its an Iwill KA266, next modo I buy will be from a more reputable company =|
Its a 350W, generic. Its 9 or 10 months old. All other components power up and "work" expcept the motherboard it seems. I've actually tried unplugging everything except the power to a few fans and the motherboard, still hangs. So I don't think the PSU is actually overloaded.
Just a small problem I've been having with one of the computers...it suffers from random acts
of not starting up. One day I will restart the computer and it won't come back. By that I mean, it hangs in a sort of stasis
between power going to the components and the motherboard. No BIOS or video...
What OS are you using? 2000/XP won't allow you disable the pagefile. Not a big deal, it will always benefit from more RAM and use it to its full extent.
Depending on what you do 1GB may be enough. What kind of files (size) and programs do you work with?
I like Maxtor drives and WD. There are...
Why are you arguing over this EULA. It doesn't work, you can't install XP on more than one computer (laptop, desktop, workstation, server, supercomputer, PDA)
Only the OFFICE XP had the option to install on a Desktop and a laptop (with restrictions), thats all!
You should know that the 120 day hardware reset thing only resets the amount of UPGRADES you can make to your system again.
Its 4-6 upgrades (depending on your hardware) within a time of 120 days, after that you get another 4-6 upgrades.
It doesn't mean you can install XP on completely...
Well there isn't an option to do so at all in XP, the CD is bootable so you don't really need it.
But you do I'm guessing, there are sources for XP boot disks on the net somewhere.
