I've got it. Slick install. Good hardware recognition & config. Nice implementation of a KDE desktop. As yet a poor selection of software from their "Xandros Network" download site, but you can install debs & rpms from other places with variable success - in fairness they are calling Xandros...

As one Linux n00b to another: I am trying Xandros right now, and I can't recommend it to you. Reasons: It's a expensive experiment - 99USD Although it installs like a dream, with an excellent (re)partitioning tool and an a boot loader for your (perhaps) dual boot, and has really good hardware...

Spammed Through Messenger Service

DirectAdvertiser. Block ports 135, 137, 139 UDP on your firewall. Alternative to disabling the Messenger Service in W2K, (?XP). Says so on their site. Other measures described for W98.

Another thought: Have you got the CPU heat sink fan plugged into the right fan header? Many motherboards (I'm not sure about yours) will shut down if they don't detect a fan, rotating at an adequate speed, plugged into the CPU fan header. Also possible, I suppose, to have the appropriate...

Netgear vs Linksys, which NIC should I use???

Internet Browsers: Mozilla is looking pretty good lately
