coolbits does not cause refresh resets. sometimes XP does though. use the Refresh Rates Overrides settings in your display properties advanced settings to set what you want. dont go over your monitor's capability though.
Sounds like you have to set a static IP on the computer to the same subnet as the WAP. If they are on different IP subnets using DHCP, you wont connect to the WAP.
Likely you have other wireless networks now in your area. Set the client to infrastructure mode with no adhoc mode. Also, use the XP wireless config to restrict the client to only connect to your SSID and not others it detects.
Recommend you replace the hubs with switches. Could go with low cost unmanaged switches. Also, Dell has some low cost 24 port switches. Could replace at least one switch. Make sure the servers are on the replaced switch. Hubs are not as efficient as a Switch. Just unplug one Hub and plug...
