So much for a "long term" investment...

Have you check the quality of the power delivery to your PC? That many issues sounds like a problem with the supply TO your pc causing the issues. Try using a power-cleaning power-strip, expensive but worthy investment. Mike

Restart Issue

Yeah I've seen this before. "Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu" is the option you need. It can happen on laptops with Quickplay [HP] when Hibernation is enabled, although I've seen it on others [albeit much rarer]. Deleting the restore point will wipe the Hibernate data...

To be honest, the vast majority of the high-end 2GB kits perform and overclock almost identically. I still say from the options you've given to get the Patriot, if you for some reason you don't like that suggestion get the OCZ. Mike

Sata to IDE converter

I'd agree. The convertor will work as well. If you're loading a card on the bus make sure you don't have any other bandwidth hungry devices on the bus as well as these will erode the performance of the card/drive combination.

Sufficient PSU?

Personally, I would look for a better PSU to go with that rig, the power draw on the 805's when overclocking is insane, and running the high-end cards as well you want lots of stable power. MikeHP

computer turns on by itself

WakeOn Lan can sometimes be enabled through the card itself. Go into Device manager and check the advanced settings for your card. Also, check wake on keyboard/mouse is not enabled. If you're using an optical mouse on a less-then perfect surface, the slightest movement can sometimes wake them...

Cost mainly. To hit the higher FSB's any of them should do and they'll all top out at very similar speeds. The Patriot is 2-3-2 anyway which is faster then your 1st choice and cheaper too. [2-3-3 for the Corsair] Mike

Worth the money to RAID the 74 Raptor...

It would be waste. Both drives would have to support NCQ to make it worthwhile, you're wasting money otherwise MikeHP

New PSU for Acer notebook

Personally, most laptop power bricks get very hot due to the transformers in them. I wouldn't worry unless you're really botherd. We havea 180W PSU for the ZD8x series that gets very hot, for instance, but is within normal operating temps. Genrally, the best replacements are the...

Graphics programs crashing?!?

This is very strange. We have a similar issue on the ZD7xxx series laptops where the memory modules were behaving strangely with Photoshop [and only Photoshop, which was the weird thing]. Changing the modules solved the issue, as did re-seating sometimes. Try using differenet combinations of...
