Somewhat off-topic, but if you would like to listen to mp3s on your PC, then make sure you have an M-Audio Revolution 7.1 soundcard. It's selling for $90 on newegg.com. The price tag maybe a bit hefty, but the sound quality is heads and shoulders above anything else I have heard on a PC...

I couldn't help chiming in. For extensive information on which built-in notebook soundcards have decent sounds, check out head-fi.org. That being said, IBM T-series actually has pretty decent built-in soundcards from what I have read. Nonetheless, if you want more, you should buy an external...

DEAD: IBM ThinkPad T23 for $999

The reason why I compare the vpr matrix 175B4 to the t23 is that it is actually a rebadged Samsung P10, which according to its users offers exceptional build quality. By only reading the specs, the 175B4 sounds like a T30 sans the built-in wireless adapter, -10GB hdd, 4200 instead of 5400rpm...

DEAD: IBM ThinkPad T23 for $999

Could someone tell me how much difference in performance is there between a PIII 1.2 and a PIV 1.8? Thanks :) And could someone tell me what is the difference in build quality between the T23 and vpr matrix 175B4? I have narrowed down my choices to those 2.

What is the Best Black Keyboard out in the market right now?

I recommend IBM keyboards. Rapid Response Pro is very good from a touch typist point of view.

Would anyone with the DVI connection care to comment the difference in picture quality between the DVI-A and the VGA connection. Is the DVI cable worth getting if you did not initially receive one?

Like the others, the color brightness/contrast needed to be adjusted using the graphic card controls. Otherwise it's quite good. Did anybody else not get a DVI cable? I only received a VGA cable, which wasn't good for 1600x1200.

So that's two lemons and a good one? ***Major sweating*** :(:(:(. Sorry to hear people getting ripped on this deal. Compgeeks is usually better than this in my experience. I will keep people posted on the result once mine comes next Monday.

Sorry to hear your bad luck. You might want to try putting a VGA->DVI adapter and try the DVI input of the monitor instead.

Looks over the shoulder to thank the angel who was looking over my shoulder. I ordered mine online, and then grabbed my phone to call my friend who was also interested. When I hung up the phone and refreshed the page, it was already OOS. DVI-A seems to be something that they came up in 2000...

Out of stock now. I got my order in in time. Thanks again for the deal. I noticed a mistake on the geeks site. This monitor doesn't have DVI-I connection. It has a DVI-A connection. I am wondering if this will work with my TI 4200 card.
