ive used microsoft mice for a while and theyre quite nice...i guess its just personal preference... and to altonb1...id say just leave it in the usb until you need the actual slot its occupying

New ATI 8500DV drivers give me problems..help!

I installed the newest ati display drivers from their website for my 8500DV (win xp pro). Now everytime i restart, I get this! It keeps saying found new hardware everytime i press cancel to not install any new drivers/hardware, and each time I press cancel, a new "unknown device" comes up in...

buyxtremegear.com rounded cables for $0.01 ..hehe wtf

It's coming up as $7.50 here to florida...not too bad but im cheap and dont want to pay so much for rounded cables :)

While that is an option, this drive should be working and I am not paying more money just so it can do its job, I am going to call IBM about an RMA.

Yes. The ibm is set to slave, as the diagrams on the back say. When put by itself on ide1 or with a cd drive on ide2 it does work...but that just cant work in my case.

couldnt figure this out in other forums maybe u can help :)

its the ibm 120gxp...on ibm.com i could not find anything about it with their confusing interface, and a driver search for gxp or even 120 returns nothing.

Ok i ran a checkdisk: C:\Documents and Settings\Adam>chkdsk /r E: The type of the file system is RAW. CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives. Here is what i get in partition magic: screenshot

After that, my advice would be to try another trojan/antivirus software like possibly a free one...just so you can assure yourself that the system is clean.

Memory Types

As long as he gets DDR memory, it will work. However, if he gets slower ram than he currently has, the higher speed ram will operate at a slower speed, which he doesnt want..My advice would be to get the same type of memory as he currently has...pc2700 333mhz.
