Launchd broken

Recently I've been having a problem on my Mac where I can't connect to it with ssh or Windows file sharing. We've traced it down to launchd, an OSX daemon that starts services when needed. It should start up sshd or whatever process is needed for Windows file sharing when a connection is made...

It does sound like the CPU might be a goner. If I was you, though, I'd try my CPU in someone else's board before you go and get a new one. I'd be pissed if I spent a couple hundred $$ on a new CPU only to find that that wasn't the problem.

If you install a new CPU and the mobo doesn't even post, is it a sign of a bad cpu?

You'll have to try the new CPU in a known working motherboard, or try a known working CPU in your motherboard. That's the only way to figure it out for sure.

Coaxial vs. HDMI

Yeah, the only real reason that HDMI cables are so expensive is because they're new. That, and a lot of places overcharge for cables no matter what type.

I always assumed it was because you don't have any clothes on, so there's no hindrance to the escape of the flatus, so it's more concentrated.

Rotary engines are a lot more resistant to that kind of thing than a standard piston engine. In a normal engine, the pistons are going up and down, always changing direction, whereas in a rotary engine, it's just going around in a circle. A piston engine would seize a lot earlier than that...

I've got two targets in a makefile that should always have the same dependency list, but since I may want to build them separately, they do need to be separate targets. Is there a way to have one access the dependency list of the other, so that I don't have to manually keep the two in sync?

Have you tried a new cable? Have you opened the thing up to see if anything's loose? I can't really tell you anything without looking at it, but it sounds like either the cable's bad, or there's a loose connection near the jack on the woofer. This is also probably not HT.
