Hi does anyone know of spyware software that does not have to be installed to use.i just hate installing stuff like that. i'm carefull of what i install and i don't have any problems but just for curiosity i would like to scan for ad & spyware...

Auto opening text file on Windows XP startup.

Hi all you have to do is make a note pad file type what you want then put it in c/documents and settings/all users or his name if he logs on/start menu/programs/startup that path is on 2000, if you're useing another os just look for the start-up folder and put the file in.. myself, I don't...

what command in win2k to see how long the pc has been up?

or you could go in control panel/admin tools/event veiwer and in sys log it keeps a log of boot up and shut down. it doesn't say that, it says event log but thats bootup & shut down hope this helps

yes,I installed redhat after looking around some more. i found out that what i have is "gnu" it's not linux. it does use the linux kernal though. when it boots up it does show the redhat and says redhat.. i'm going to play with it for a few weeks and see if it grows on me, one thing i will say...

the only info i can find is, Nautilus 2.2.1 is the graphic shell for gnome.. i found this where you would find it in windows the help/about tab... i'll have to look for a tut on this thing THANKS for all your help!!

linux is realy slow opening things. i found that it is useing 236megs of ram and i only have 256, it's only putting 1.5meg in the swap file.. is this normal? i can't find anything that would allow me to free up some ram.. any suggestions? also, is it normal to get a word processor and other...

thanks for the suggestion pitupepito..i'm looking over these image files and the only thing i see familiar is an autorun no exe's anywhere,but hay i just put a computer up on my bench(i have an old p2) fdisked it but created no partition so i'm going to try installing redhat now anyway..I will...
