kHaven't tried gaming with it. For the most part it seems to be a server version of XP so I would think it should. You never know though. Makes me want to download a demo of it to see. The last time I played with it was RC2.

How would Debian run on a 500MHz/128mb RAM computer

Depends on what you load it up with. I am running Linux on a spare computer I have (without X, Gnome or KDE) but with Samba, and it only uses 50MB of ram. That text mode sure is snappy :). Seriously though, more ram is always better, but as long as you don't load it up with a ton of daemons...

Well, in the end it might turn out that way anyway. Honestly, looking at your situation and putting myself in your shoes I would go the clean install route. That way if something happens you can always keep running your 4.0 box and work on the new server.

Well, you wouldn't have the server stuff (DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, etc.). The only reason I could see you wanting to install 2003 server, other than it would be "cool" to do it or something, is the fact that from what I understand, IIS in XP is version 5.1, and 2003 has IIS 6.0. Honestly...

In that case have you checked to find out if your apps will work on 2003? Somehow I highly doubt it. Hell, Microsoft can't even manage to get Exchange 2000 to work on it (intentionally or otherwise), not to mention SQL 2000 barely works, and these two products are important to businesses.
