The point is that this is the first die shrink that uses MORE power/mhz than it's larger ancestor. And it's not the extra cache...Intel has screwed up the 90nm process and they haven't been able to fix it even after a years delay. I doubt any chip has used the watts per square cm that a...
"I'm really hoping that the initial retail P4E's will do 4GHz. A 4GHz Northwood is hard to come by, I don't think a P4E will be as nearly as hard.
I'm going to get a 3.2e to play with just to see."
According to overclockers.com, a P4E will use 130+ watts at 4.0ghz without any voltage boost. I...
The Prescott is cheaper to make alright but it's power consumption is horrible. A 4ghz Prescott will use 130 Watts at least! Look at this wattage comparision of Northwood and Prescott.

What I was worried about were the sliding tubes of the zoom lens...they can stick if dirt or dust gets into them. But I see that this camera has a lens adaper and all you need is a clear filter and it seals the zoom up. That's a great feature and very important for beach use:D
This camera is available for $299 + $14.95 Ship at inoax.com
There is a review of it here Steve's Digicams
It seems like a pretty good deal. Does anyone else have this camera? Is it well made? It seems like a zoom that big would be prone to damage from sand or dirt.
It's back up to $469. Looks like it was a pricing error after all. Or a way to get some attention. I don't think we'll see these for <$400 till '04 :brokenheart:
I agree 100%. They were selling it as a preorder and they should know how many they can ship on release. AND that "we have seperate inventories" ploy is despicable. If the inventory system on their site shows that it is available then they should be able to change the delivery. Speaking of...
I called my local BB and they have plenty in stock but CS can't change the delivery because they show none available even though I can order one for store pickup today on the website! Total B.S. I'll try again tommorow and see if it's fixed. Otherwise I think I'll just wait and make them pay...
Well they did it to me too. I got a card in my mailbox today saying $2.11 postage due on my package from monsterink. I didn't know the P.O. would accept mail postage COD either but here it is...
I liked this review..
"If you like one side toasted bread or you like to stand and wait to turn the bread around this toaster is the one for you. "
:D;)
It's been running for months with not a glitch and I have an Alpha 8045 H/S which bolts to the board (it's NOT coming loose). The fault happened on a simple reboot nothing moved. It showed me how quickly these complex devices can fail even after running fine for a year! I can't remember another...
