This is still my main PC: AMD 3800+ X2 s939, 2GB, Gigabyte GA-KNF9 something. XP SP2
I run Cubase 4, ProTools LE, GuitarRig, EZ drummer, couple of other things. When serious music making is required I switch to the second boot that has all the enhancements and modifications needed to free up...
OK, I hope this is the right category to ask this question:
I want to upgrade the hdd in my Intel MacBook. It originally had a 60GB hdd. With a little Bootcamping and so on, this proves to be limited space. So far I have been looking at these drives, and I believe they are the right ones...
I have a dual monitor setup on a PC and a MacBook. Since the MacBook's screen isn't really big, I thought a switch for the secondary monitor of my dual screen setup would make sense. That way I can switch from Mac to PC with that screen. This would make things easier on the MacBook.
I have...
I don't know what the PS3 actually puts into the optical s/pdif.
If Creative is out of the question: Terratec? Their Aureon 5.1 Fun is dirt cheap and has optical s/pdif i/o.
Right now I wish I had decided to put everything in an Antec Take3 or Take4 case instead of the P150. That would have saved some space. Other than that I am quite pleased still with the performance of my S939 A64 3800+ X2, Gigabyte NF4 Ultra, 1x 250 WD 2x 300 Maxtor, all 16MB, all SATA. What I...
BTW, did you get Apple Care with your MacBook. I heard it would be void if you upgrade the RAM yourself. I will get 512MB with mine, but want 1GB. It's a "one size fits all" order by the school. Apple is so expensive with upgrades, it seems like they are milking it real well.
I wanted to try a Seagate this time. So I will be looking for one of those 7200.10. The 320GB is the cheapest in GB/? (there's that thingy again!). I don't think I'll need more than that. For now.
The box looks like this. My guess would be that it doesn't even look bad with a MacBook. The box...
Thank you all for chiming in.
There are two options, both 3.5" SATA enclosures
RaidSonic ICY DOCK MB-559UEA-1S: FW400/USB2.0 for 66 euro
RaidSonic ICY DOCK MB-559UEB-1S: FW800/USB2.0 for 101 euro
Prices from my favourite webshop here in The Netherlands.
Since a MacBook has no FW800...
I will be needing an external HDD for my MacBook soon.
The RaidSonic ICY DOCK MB-559UEA-1S seemed attractive because it will offer FW400 as well as USB 2.0. Since this will also act as my mobile recording setup I will want to be sure to reach 33MBs, whether on USB or FW. Since my recording...
The reason for buying a Pro would be: bigger screen and the express card slot. The fact that I think a white MacBook looks like a kitchen appliance has nothing to do with that ;)
The MacBook from the school has 3y Apple Care included already.
I am now beginning to have second thoughts...
My school hands out a Macbook (the basic version), but not the Macbook Pro version. There is no way to customize my Macbook beforehand. Since a Pro would serve me much better (in the future) I plan on selling the MacBook and buy a Pro myself. I'd like to have the simple version of the Pro...
