i was "gifted" a gateway 2000, it ran winMe at the point i got it, it had some serious problems. so i reformated the harddrive, i need a motherboard password

is there anyway (maybe something other than a slingbox) that I can record television on in a format readable by mac and windows. i don't want any remote control, i just want to use it like tivo on my local network i have a basic cable tv connection (coax) and a wired ethernet network

Mac OS 8.6 File Sharing

i have an old iMac Bondi Blue i got from my school. it runs os 8.6 it accesses my DSL line through its built in ethernet. so how can i get it to file share with my windows ME. they both go through the same DSL.
