Bios/Core temperature readings

I just upgraded from an A64 3000+ to an X2 4200+. Motherboard is an EpoX 9NDA3J, heatsink is an XP-90. Load temperature was 60C as reported by the BIOS. I didn't think it'd be that high so I dowloaded Core Temp to see if that said anything different. Core Temp reported the temps as 50C and...

Which TV tuner ?

I've been watching some TV on my L90D+, though with a pretty old/crappy tv card. It has a low resolution, so when I watch full screen it'll look somewhat fuzzy/blurry, but the colours are great and I don't see any ghosting or motion blur from the LCD. I'd say it looks pretty good, tho I can't...

17 inch versus 19 inch lcd monitor

I've used my 19" L90D+ and the 17" Dells in the computer labs here, and for me neither seems to cause less eye strain than the other. However I enjoy gaming quite a bit, and the bigger screen does make games more enjoyable for me. So I decided to pay the extra for the larger screen.

Carrying case for 19'+ LCD monitor?

The L90D+ comes in a box that, tho it has a handle on top, has you lay it down on its side before opening. So you need to tape it shut before carrying it by its handle. Also the base is a pain to remove (tho it is possible), and it won't fix in the box with the base on.

World of Warcraft

I ordered my copy Wednesday night, 11:30PM EST. It got here Thursday afternoon. Lucky they have a warehouse nearby or something. :) Now I'm just waiting till I finish the rest of my 10day trial before actually using my own copy..

LCD Help [Gaming]

If money doesn't matter, then the LG sounds good. With 12ms I don't think there will be much ghosting. fEngine does sound interesting, but I don't know how much better it really makes things look. :P I'd still go with the L90D+ tho. $150 cheaper, colors seem good and ghosting should be almost...

Can anyone tell me how the X800XL performs when playing Chaos Theory...

Yeah, the Far Cry demo was crap with my 6800NU. Actual game worked perfectly fine tho. I don't recall the Chaos Theory demo being very slow either, but then I didn't have FRAPS running and it wasn't a very fast paced game.

Whats the difference between a dead pixel and a stuck pixel?

That's what I'm afraid of. I have a stuck blue pixel on my L90D+, unnoticable in normal use but in games it's pretty easy to see. I'm tempted to try the rubbing, but it's not worth the risk of smudging whatever coating may be there or ruining a bunch of pixels around it.

Overclocking the A64 3000+ on an Nforce3 Epox board...

3000+, Epox 9NDA3J. Board seems to be fine to 300, maybe higher (lowered cpu mult to 8). CPU seems to be capable of 2.4-2.5 stable, but haven't had time to really test.

What is the best 8ms LCD Flat-Panel Monitor?

Personally I have the Hyundai L90D+. 19", I think the contrast ratio was about the same as the Samsung. It has both DVI and analog inputs too. Costs about $370 I think. I'm pretty happy with it but I can't compare it to those listed. However Tomshardware gave it a good review when they did...

In the apartment I'm in, the power's generally good but there are times when it'll dip low enough for a second. Enough to reboot the computer or turn it off. It's annoying to come back home to a computer that's shut off, or worse yet be in the lab trying to grab my homework off it, only to...

Yay grammar nit-picking! "budget" doesn't just mean cheap, it can also mean "money put aside or reserved for some purpose". So $1900 budget means just that - $1900 to spend on his new pc.

Aye, another vote for the L90D+. Enjoying mine so far, tho I can't really compare it to other LCD's since this is my first. Well, apart from the 15" Dells in the school computer lab.

l90d+ base removal?

I just got mine today, tried it out at home before bringing it back to my apt. The base was indeed a pain to get off, my thumb is stinging but I got it off without any tools. I pressed in the back two tabs one by one, pushing the base out while applying pressure, so that I heard them click...

Cool?N?Quiet - how exactly does it work

I think that could vary by motherboard. When I tried to oc and had voltage set to +0.1v, CnQ would drop the voltage to about from 1.45v -> 1.15v instead of 1.35->1.05v like it usually is. Also my mobo doesn't allow the multiplier to be set if CnQ is turned on. Using an Epox 9NDA3J.
