New Alienware computer system.

People pick AMD for gaming for one very simple reason - they are faster. Also they are both virtually identical to install so intel is no easier. As I see it the only reason to go with intel dual core now is if you are on a budget. Oh and build it yourself - just work out what you want...

The school does not matter that much (pick any good one) what really matters is the sort of demos and stuff you can produce in your own time, these can a)get you a job without a degree or b)get you a much better job when paired with a degree. Also that is a pretty wide field you are looking...
