I have a problem with my P6T Deluxe that has recently started to occur. When I shut down from windows (Beta 7 and RC 7 64bit) the system will power off completely and then about 3sec later it will power back on. It's kind of creeping me out lol. I have to hold down the power button to shut it...
A user on xtremesystem was very helpful in answering this question. The short answer is that the board only supports a max of 5 SATA drives in a non-raid setup; only 1 of the 2 orange ports can be used. This kinda sucks and I wish I knew this before ordering the board, but now i'll have to...
Hopefully a P5W DH owner could answer this for me. Can the board support 6 SATA drives *without* using RAID? I'm concerned about the 2 orange SATA ports which are used for the 'EZBackup' feature. Will those two ports also allow for just regular SATA useage?
Sorry I should have clarified, those prices above are in CDN. Even if I could find Ballistix 8000 memory around here i'm sure it will be priced higher :|
Do you mean 975 chipset? From what I've read, generally speaking the 975 works 'better' with the e6600 and the 965 with the lower chips.
Generally speaking, it appears a lot of enthusiasts rave over the Micron ICs such to the point that they are in high demand and limited supply (=more $)...
I think I may go for the OCZ SO UE modules if only for the funky heatsink. from what i've read the corsair dominator uses regular ICs (and not micron) so it wont overclock as high as say the Team Xtreem which does have micron ICs. Price wise (in CDN including tax and shipping):
Corsair XMS2...
Hopeuflly some smarter people than I can help me. I'm totally clueless over which modules to buy for this motherboard. How do these choices sound:
Corsair XMS2 Dominator TWIN2X2048-6400C4 2X1GB PC6400 CL 4-4-4-12
OCZ Special Ops Urban Elite PC2-6400 CL4-4-3-15
OCZ Platinum XTC OCZ2P800R22GK...
the problem first appeared with nForce AMD users and the X-Fi, but I think the problem has carried over into the Intel world as well. To the op, check the creative labs support forum as there is an ongoing discussion about the X-Fi and its issues.
It's not you. It is the slowest, unorganized, out of date website i've seen for what is supposed to be a premier technology company. The best was yesterday when their US website refused more connections because they were overloaded. <_< great way to show off your products guys.
I'm probably going to get another Scythe Ninja, or perhaps the Scythe Mine (I just ordered the E6600 and Antec P180 case..now I just need the mobo+ram)
Thank you for responding.
My reasons for not o/c'ing is I need a stable system that won't be prone to crashing/lock-ups etc and I'm a complete n00b about this. I would have no idea where to start, what to adjust, and what the impact would be (long-term damage to components? etc).
If there...
Phile: Thank you so much for clarifying the memory settings!
I'm looking to build a system using:
E6400
Asus P5W DH
My question is the memory. Which is the better buy for this motherboard (note I will not be overclocking the system, I only care about stability): (all kits are 2gb)
OCZ...
The P160 is already bought and in use so switching cases isn't really an option.
I was under the assumption the Ninja + Yate Loon fans are the quietest combo on the market...am I mistaken? I think the Nexus fans are quieter but move even less air (@ a slower RPM). The only other fan I know...
I am considering the following upgrade to my system and would like some insightful opinions on whether i'm doing it right:
x2-3800, a8n32, in a P160 case. non-OCed (with no intention of doing so either).
I want to put two Yate Loon 120mm fans in - one for the front, one for the rear...
