It's just a few services that I know definitely aren't needed. (e.g. DNS client, distributed link, etc.)
I'm planning on adding another 256Mb of RAM, which is actually quite pricey as compared to prices of DDR2. However, I just have a nagging feeling that it won't help that much seeing as...
I went to 'fix' a relative's computer the other day, I say 'fix' very loosely as there was little wrong with it.
Anyway, the main issue is that it's an oldish machine (Intel Pentium 4 using PC133 SDRAM), but from what saw, it was using Windows XP Home Edition that probably came installed on...
I think I'm pretty well qualified to try answer the question. I went from AMD AthlonXP (2.2GHz) / 1GB to Athlon64 (2.4GHz) / 1GB to Opteron 165 (2.8GHz) / 2GB and now to Intel Q6600 (3.4GHz) / 4GB. All of the overclocked, I odn't know if that floats your boat or not though. What I will say is...
I guess I didn't explain it properly. Have you ever used a TIVO? Where you can 'pause' a live broadcast and then resume from where you left off. That is essentially what I'm after for the live radio stream. I can't see it as being too hard to do particularly and I'm puzzled as to why there...
As the title suggests, I'm looking for some software that can let you pause a live internet radio stream (MMS stream). That is, it'll resume from exactly where it left off, say if I have to leave the room or something.
Right now, I can use something like HiDownload to download the stream as...
Hi,
I have a little project to work on and it involves driving a minimum of 5 displays at once, possibly 6.
- Four displays will be at 1366x768 I believe (they are LCD TVs) (all connected vi DVI -> HDMI)
- One will be your bog standard monitor (anything up to 1650x1050 / 1600x1200)...
Was it on?
Hard drives can take a fair amount of shock when they aren't on. The symptoms do sound like a bad hard drive though. Have you made sure that the RAM (if it's in a slot) has been seated back ok?
The only way to achieve what you want is to make an automated install disc that installs Windows and then after it 'silently' installs the drivers and applications. You still have to make the disc the first time though, which can be time consuming.
The thinnest and smallest solution I think is a SD Card with a built in USB bit. Check on out here: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0501/05010606sandisksdflip.asp

That's what I meant. It's also the whole point of having encryption on a flash drive - if I can't take it about and use it on other computers (without admin privileges) then it's pointless.
You could try asking your question on The thinkpad forums (forum.thinkpads.com) they have a lot of people there that might be able to help you with your problem.
