I just wanted to say thanks to everyone - especially Phil and MikePaul for their help! I replaced my motherboard and everything went fine with the new version! I can only imagine that I had a really old BIOS or that there was an issue with it! I also had to replace the PSU aswell - so am...

Phil - you are a legend! I guess what I am saying is this: The original problems that I had with the first board led me to reflash the BIOS - which I wont be doing again (well not with EzFlash anyway). I just want to make sure that I have done everything that I need to to get XP (or Vista)...

OK, I've gone about this the expensive way around. Having talked to my reseller - who were not as helpful as I would have hoped - I went to shop and I have purchased another PW5 DH Deluxe (knowing that I can get a refund on my original). So ... even though i am apretty well aquainted...

Phil, I agree completely - however, I have no way of contacting ASUS in the UK, that I have not already tried. There is no listed customer support phone number on their website in the UK (other than for notebooks) . I'm really hoping that I can some to a good resolution with this, a colleague...

It seems countless people have a "no POST" problem with this board and there is no 'set solution', to fix it. If this is a problem that has arisen from the BIOS update I did, ASUS should be supplying a fix for it (that actually works when you have no display) - otherwise they should be warning...

---------------------------------------------------- Oh, what HAD been working for me was to reset the CMOS, get 1407 to finally start, then quickly hit ALT+F2 to flash back to 1305 from a USB dongle. Prep the dongle with 1305 and hope for the best getting restarted...

Hi Phil, I have also managed to get an old Nvdia PCIE card for a few days to try out. I'm going to see if the PC will boot using that, and if so I'll update the BIOS to 1305, restart and if all is working I'll put the new video card back into the box and see what happens! If this doesn't...

For the record, I have just tried again, one last time and now the machine doesnt reboot! I still get no POST, no video but the keyboar responds to capslock being pressed, the dvd ejects fine, the HDUs all seem to spin as do al the fans (including the graphics card fan). I would suspect that...

Cheers Phil, Unfortunately, like MikePaul, I can't see anythin on my monitor - It appears to get no connection to my PCIE card, even though the fan on it is spinning. So even though I put the ASUS MB support CD in the drive I can't see what is happening. It doesn't seem to help though...

I HAVE tried putting the CD I used to update the BIOS in the drive and pressting <alt + F2> at start up also... Well NO joy or I wouldnt be here I guess! I am now leaving the battery out of the machine overnight without the video card installed in a last ditch attempt to reset the CMOS...
