not true for HDD's. as I said, 40C is just about perfect.

yes, it will work, and I would hook it up to a pcie x8 minimum, pci x16 will work (as previous poster noted, if it is a full x16 then you are fine. it should still work at x4 but with such a nice card, I don't think you want to limit the bandwidth. so... hook it up to the full bandwidth slot)

the cpu will not be damaged by getting too hot, but if you overvolted it that's a different story.

even if they did, you're not anywhere close to needing more than 1200W. but just because you have "enough watts" does not mean you have a quality psu, nor does it mean your psu is in perfect working condition. if your system was using 1200W, that is about the same as a toaster oven. so...

40C is perfect for hdd's keeping them cooler than that does not prolong life.

I'm still listening. By the way I don't really know where to buy. Amazon would be fine. Newegg seems limited in choices. The philips ones at target look good for the gym... I do appreciate sound quality but maybe shure's are not the best for the gym.

Building a new computer soon

with your budget you should be getting 2 video cards especially for gaming on a 24" screen. my pick would be 2x GTX285's. for a few more bucks you could grab an 850W corsair... not that you'd need it particularly, but it isn't going to hurt to have more headroom.
