Asus own website says VR-zone has It, The other one I think might have been an early version, But Asus can change what they want and It looks like they did. 2 PCI slot Asus M2N32-SLI motherboard

opteron 170...

I installed an Opteron 165 on My MSI K8T Neo2-F v1.0 MS-6702E motherboard(Via K8T800 Pro chipset) and I have not only the MS patch, But the AMD X2 driver and I still can't access the 2nd core at all under XP Pro sp2. Bios is 9.2 of course and It is the latest official Bios, There is a 9.3 beta...

I believe You, I do really. I just upped My cpu speed to 2.4GHz and the Temp is now at 42C, Ram is running at 240MHz in zoom2, Not bad for a Via chipset. :) It's too bad I would have liked to post links to images here(I self host), Oh well. A custom icon would be nice too, But I didn't see a...

The original poster used the right word. If that is why You're puzzled. As to WC I believe Swiftech is very good, But I can afford air cooling and so XP-120 heatsinks do Ok, The cpu temp right now on My overclocked 3200+ 90nm cpu is 37C right now. Of course I have the swamp cooler on right now...

Actually He used the right word, Since descent means to go down or to dive(airplane vs submarine). Me I have 3 XP-120 heatsinks and the two that were and are for My 2nd PC showed good results on the Bios and yeah that's at idle alright. I may replace one with an SI-120 or buy two as one of...

That's the problem with Me, I used to be registered here, I think, But I guess I didn't visit enough and so well I guess It got deleted maybe. That and I cover at least a dozen or so forums on the web. pcper, 2cpu, anandtech, bbr, msi, elite bastards, cluboc, hardocp, systemcooling, ninjalane...

Well I was under the impression that ECC was required, Oh well. But of course having It doesn't hurt though.

Actually ECC is required and isn't optional, If You do buy a dual opteron cpu motherboard, Spare Yourself a hassle with the ram and the psu, Get what I have, It's good stuff and It likes Opterons.

I don't know as I play games on Mine and It does pretty good, Mind You that is while crunching numbers for Seti and this is at 100% load too.

What's the disadvantage of getting an Opteron server board?

One of the disadvantages of a dual opteron motherboard is the cost of the cpus, The ram and having a good enough power supply, I should know as I have all that in My PC zoom3 which runs 24/7 in an overclocked state with no problems.
