keep checking out deal sites the next few days, Dell has a ton of sales year round ya just gotta find the coupons. My friend got a Q6600 CPU + 2900HD Inspiron 530 a year ago with a nice 20" monitor for $800. If I were you I'd get a Dell Studio desktop, why mini? Q9550 is the way to go right now...

any cheap IPS (e-IPS?) LCDs out there that do 1920x1080/1200

Just go with a nice looking/reputably manufactured TN, such as the Samsung models. You're not gonna need an IPS for what you do... Also, cheap+IPS+1080P doesn't compute.

It's always worth waiting, one way or another. Your selection looks very good so far... If you don't need it now, then don't get it. If you have disposable funds however... go for it. The monitor you've chosen has had very favorable reviews so stick with that if you can afford it. Though...
