Problem making a cd boot

Is there something very specific that you have to do in order for a CD to be bootable? I don't think I quite understand this... I had the contents of a password crack program copied to a thumb drive by calling someone on the phone and requesting a password crack CD... I was expecting ERD...

OMG i think i just broke my laptop!

try unplugging the power cord from the laptop and then plugging it back in after a few secs. My laptop has on occasion lost power when picking it up to move it... power cord comes loose or something... and then won't turn on even though it shows power lights on the laptop until I unplug it and...

Getting tired of my Linksys WRT54GS

I had owned a 54g linksys router for about two years and then I fried it in Iraq. I never had the mentioned problem with it... however, since then, I've boughten a 'b' linksys router and It has the same exact issue. Every 3 days you have to turn it off and then back on. I updated firmware...

lcd is extremely dim

I've seen this problem a few times with the Dell D600 series. It's been in my case a lose ribbon cable between the motherboard and the lcd screen which is fairly easy to get fixed.

In older days... or maybe I got this wrong... wasn't a workstation a computer with no hard drive etc... as in it was connected to a server to get all of it's data.

On my laptop there is no clicking. Simply push it in all the way. Installing while laptop is on with 2000 or xp should give you some sort of on screen notification that new hardware was found... If that pops up... then it's all the way in.

WiFi + WEP performance

For surfing the net the B standard with WEP enabled is still well above what cable modem offers for bandwidth. If you're asking due to internet based reasons... ie online game, downloads, etc you really won't be affected. For shared files over the network... ie copying video files, music...

Multi-room audio

Making any attempt to sync up the music in multiple rooms won't work. Ever have multiple radios in various rooms all on same station... only for it to almost sound like there's an echo when your on one half of the house. It's because sound takes time to travel. With some 5.1 systems...
