I've had it happen many times where the Thermal paste creates a vacume. It acts like an adhesve and won't let go. Also you can try to grap the outer part of the cpu and twist it slowly. I don't have to tell you to be carefull not to bend the pins...

why does every one like to get the WC kits? Go and make your own and it will look way better plus you can get uv die in the tubes and make the case look really Sweet!
