HDMI connection on 25" LCD

I'm trying to use HDMI cable with my new 25" LCD monitor but I'm having some issues. When I use DVI cable, everything looks perfect. When I use HDMI cable, I see black bars around the screen. It's like the whole screen just shrunk. I'm using ATI 4350, Windows 7 Premium, HP 25" full HD...

~24" 1920x1200 LCD (or 1920x1080)

1920x1200 will always be better than 1920x1080. However, 1920x1080 is becoming more popular these days. It's actually hard to find a 24" monitor with 1920x1200 resolution these days. The best bang for your buck will of course be the 1920x1080 monitors by far.

Intel Q6600 vs. AMD Phenom 9600

I think I'll go for the Phenom setup. Local retailer is having a sale on a Gateway system. Phenom Quad-Core 9600 Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit 4GB RAM 640GB HDD Radeon HD 2400 for $599.99 I already have a GeForce 8800GT so I'll just use that. This system is actually $190 cheaper...

Intel Q6600 vs. AMD Phenom 9600

I don't plan on overclocking at all. I do plan on using the system to mainly play games and watch movies though. Is $150 price difference enough to justify Q6600 over Phenom 9600? I've looked at that chart from tomshardware but they only have Phenom 9500 listed. :-/

ATI 4850 TEMPERATURE discussion

My only worry about getting an after market cooler is that it voids the lifetime warranty. What's also puzzling to me is that the fact that the stock fan that came with the card is not sufficient enough to cool the card properly. My room is fairly cool and yet I get see artifacts playing...

I'm starting to get worried about my 4850's temperature... I know it has a lifetime warranty but it's too much of a hassle in case something happens to the video card. Not only do you have to ship the video card to them, you have to wait until they "repair" it or send you a replacement card...

ATI 4850 TEMPERATURE discussion

I have a question about the ATi Catalyst Control Center. When it says "Enable ATI Overdrive," does that mean my 4850 is running at that speed even though my "Current Clock Settings" shows otherwise? I enabled ATI overdrive and the GPU Clock says 625MHz and Memory Clock says 993MHz but...
