I'm always on my XP machine as a daily user = trillian; i would'n doubt if there's something else better out there.

your a64 3200+ socket 939 has.... should have a built in dual channel memory controller; Other chips may rely on the chipset. You have to install each module on a different channel for the modules to work in dual channel. So try your 2, 1...
hey hey... dual channel memory has to match or exceed the external bus speed of the chip, your mobo has to support the feature and you're going to need equal memory modules. your problem is your memory chips.

i got a old 486 dx in an old laplot that runs fine... i'm probably going to low level linux and use it for on the fly fuel injection tuning... i think it still has an operable 540 meg hd...

I briefly searched and couldn?t come up with anything for each individual machine. There are third party programs that allow you to auto log off (just as some have stated); I?m a little curious, couldn?t you set that feature through your server? Or at least set the user names/sessions to expire...

Wipe it all completely, then?
Partition your pc the way you want it, then install 2k pro on c, xp pro on d and vista on e (or any other combination / of drive letters / partitions)...
based on this comment, sound like you need mirroring between hd's that are internal and a nice server case that features multiple docking bays (in which 2 hd's are mirrored to each other / and are hot swappable).

If it was a fuse issue make sure you get a nice heavy duty replacement (physically compare them, I've blown out weaklings and can say they?re a waste of money). If you have spare PSU?s laying around grab the fuse for parts if you ever decide to toss em out!
