Hi all,
I just recently put together a new rig with the following components and have been struggling to get over the air hdtv work. I'm not sure if it's the software or hardware that I'm missing to get everything going. Any help you can provide is much appreciated as I have not found much...
my guess it's anywhere from 15-20% than your 7600gs based on the comparison of the 8600 gts vs. the faster 7600 gt.

If im not wrong, the 256-bit 7800gt should be faster than this card. The upshot for this 8600 gts is the fanless cooling, dx10 support, h.264 acceleration.
according to the site below, it looks like the board's still on track to release sometime next month. I gotta say it looks pretty sweet.

folks,
the lastest bios v7.2 seems to have fixed the cold boot issue. i updated to it about a week ago and have not experience the same boot problem as before. memory timings seem to be off compared to what I've set in the bios though. setting 4-4-4-12 in the bios results in a 4-5-6-12...
according to other forum threads, it seems that 965/975 boards from asus & gigabyte have their own set of issues so i guess switching mobo won't exactly do me any good. i also always use the power button when my system doesn't post. the reset button doesn't do much to help. i only hope this...
yea thats the one. you push the power button and the system turns on but it doesnt post and you don't hear that beep. you just see the hd light stay lit whlie the screen stays blank. sometimes it takes a few tries to get my computer to boot to POST. based on other forum threads on this mobo...
i've also been following the thread over at xtremesystem on this mobo. i also check into the hardocp thread from time to time but so far it seems like no one has a solution to fix the cold boot issue. that's my only problem as i'm still running at stock speed.
i still suggest a "wait and see" approach regardless of what the ppl at asus said. the cost of the board to reseller's already $140+. i myself made the mistake by thinking the p5b-e was a lower end model than the p5b non-dx and therefore assumed the $130 pricetag. unless huge price cuts are...
you all should take a look again around when more resellers carry this model. i highly doubt price will dip much below $160 if any. Blame asus for releasing the wrong info to the peeps at anandtech.
hmm... tks for the input. let me see if i can find that in the bios as that's what i was looking for. otherwise it'll be a real bitch to have to swap this board out if i can't even get everything to run right with stock settings. btw, i spoke too soon about booting up just fine. it turns out...
