cd burners wear out?

Well, if anyone has any info on 'cdrom misalingment',or 'rail greasing', or can tell me that these things don't exist :) it would be greatfully appreciated. I have a faint memory of some people talking about realignment kits, but am not sure. Anyone?

Rebels7: thx for the lead :) btw, any chance you a link to that thread you mention, perhaps they elaborate on how to get to the rails and what kind of grease to use. at this point i'll try anything, as my drive is basically in near throw-away condition.

Anyone with an Update on Tyan Dual TB Mobo?

We can get 1.2/133 TBirds now, we can get DDR, we can soon get GeForce3's... Now how about a nice dually Tbird rig? Anyone hear anything at all about Tyan's upcoming motherboard?

yep. first thing i did was go to the savage website as i said, and they require an active account to get in to the support section, lol. then i tried the windows pnp drivers: no opengl, so no go. finally i got the login info for savage, installed thier drivers, and still no 3d/opengl, so i...

In the device manager, this display adapter shows up as S3 ViRGE-DX/GX PCI (375/385). What card is this, and what drivers would best be used for winME? Thx in advance for the help BTW, i tried going to the savage homepage and a login is requird which i do not have.

UPDATE: ATI Radeon DDR now only $100 (free shipping)
