How many here find it difficult to shop for motherboards on newegg because when you look reviews you see a lot of 1 eggs due to DOA. I find hard to gauge on how good something is when a majority of the reviews are 1 egg for DOA.
A few years back it was between the the Asus Rampage 3 Formula or the EVGA X58 mobo. I decided for the Asus. Now that I am thinking of getting a X5650, I am glad I went with the Asus. The EVGA require a mod to accept the X5650 xeons.
I have been looking to upgrade my cooler from the CNPS9900A LED to a Dark Rock PRO 3 or Dark Rock 3 because I am planning on getting a X5650 and overclocking it. I was concern with the metal clips. I don't like AiO. The Zalman is a pain in the ass to clean due to the curves.
How safe are the metal clips that hold on to fans on Noctua, beQuiet and other aftermarket cpu coolers? My fear is that vibration would eventually knock one loose and land on the back of the CPU. Anyone had an issue with them?
I have a non reference hd5570. I think it is Gigabyte. Run s quite and cool. The reason I am going with 620 is because I have and only need a mobo to build. I have everything else. Not looking to buy all parts. The is just project. More of a living room pc.
What is the deal with Gigabyte motherboards? I have been considering buying a mAtx board for a HTPC AMD build and the reviews for all are horrible on Newegg and Amazon. A lot of died in three months to a year. Is there QC that bad?
I found an AMD Athlon II X4 620 Propus Quad-Core 2.6 GHz Socket AM3 95W in my closet from my first PC build. I was wondering if this would be good enough to pair with a ASUS M5A97 PLUS AM3+ MoBO and my old HD5770. This would be hooked up to the tv in the living room to watch netflix and youtube.
