WinXP SP1 Final has been leaked!

FWIW: Winver shows: Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp1.020828-1920 : Service Pack 1) I'm running NAV 2002 with the latest patches and definitions applied. It's hardly warez to get a service pack a week early.

Mem, I'm pretty sure that's correct, the update is just for XP processors (Palomino, Tbred etc.) and probably Duron processors based around the Morgan core.

Got it installed, seems to be running well. I put it through the usual paces. If you have an AMD chip I recommend that you go into Device Manager and "Update Driver", let it automatically find the new driver for you. For some reason it doesn't get updated during the SP install. (I checked the...

Ok my $2000 EX2K server is ready to rumble any suggestions?

Disable the write cache in Windows 2000 Device manager for all disk drives, unless you have to do that in the Bios Raid setup in which case, do it there (basically, wherever you have to, and yes, it will slow you down quite a bit). XADM: Exchange DB and Caching Hard Disks and Controllers

Free HTTP proxy server, Naviscope v8.70

Nifty little http proxy server, ad blocker, accelerator tool. Download is 614 KBytes. Naviscope v8.70 download page I have it setup on my network serving other pcs, it's a piece of cake. For a simple proxy, and accelerator program, i'd prefer it over MS Proxy Server 2.0 which I also use.

If XP Home and Pro are NOT so different, why is Home so unstable???

I use XP Pro at work and XP Home Edition at home. On nearly identical systems, they are both equally stable. Very stable. I have about 24 computers on the network that are Win2k SP3, 2 on Win2k SP2 and 3 on XP Pro. All in all, XP Pro has been more stable, but only in a couple of areas. I think...

CPU Upgrade Question: Duron 1.2 Retail VS Athlon 1.3 OEM

How about a Duron 1.3 for $49? Duron 1.3 $49 It has SSE and hardware prefetch, making it as fast or faster in some apps than the Athlon 1.3 and much, much cooler running as it's based on the Palomino core, not the Thunderbird core.

New Sound Blaster Live! drivers on Windows Update

Looks like these drivers cleared up the crackling sounds I was having while streaming audio from the internet. Also, system is smoother, more reponsive while I'm listening to Audio and surfing media rich web pages. Nice.
