No boot, same problem on two systems

Both boards are on a table now so there are no shorts due to the case. The K8N powers itself on when I connect it to power supply, but otherwise gives no activity and shuts off after 10 seconds. This other setup, a GA-7N400 which had been working fine, shows a yellow light on the motherboard...

Today I attempted to replace the motherboard and CPU in a box with another combo, and am now having a problem with both setups powering on for a few seconds, and then shutting off--no beeps, just a yellow status light. Components are known good, and the old configuration had been running stable...

GA-7N400 R2 will not POST

GA-7N400 R2 with known-good CPU, RAM, AGP and power will not POST. No activity. The board is a Newegg refurb, which gives the immediate possibility that it was DOA... but, if anyone has any suggestions, if this is just a tempermental board, etc. please help.

PSU fried motherboard?

I'm working on a computer that will not POST and the owner has tried installing a new PSU. So, looking near the motherboard's power connector I see three capacitators whose tops are cracked apart slightly and an orangish material is showing slightly. Dead motherboard?

Microphone headset without headphones

I'm unable to find a microphone headset that does not have headphones. If you have seen the headset which came with DF2, I'm thinking of something like that. Any help is appreciated.
