One thing that's telling about the PC market is when you walk into a store like Gamestop.
when i was younger, these stores had tons of PC games on the shelf.
nowadays, there's like one tiny corner in the very back of the store with like two short shelves with PC games, if that.
the rest of...
there is a Dell outlet dekstop brand new not refurbished with i3-2100, 4g ram, going for $100 less than the iBuyPower on the Dell site right now. inventory changes quickly (have to keep refreshing page) so it could be gone by now
Dell Outlet is your friend. too bad the 20% off coupon ended last month. I got a desktop with an i-5 2400, 6 gig ram for $300. plenty of money left over for video card.
I just built a gaming rig and have tried some shooters released in last few years, like Bad Company 2, and I just can't get into them - so I'm not going to spend $60 on BF3. I can't see who's shooting me half the time, everything feels too digital (like shooting at a dot rather than a human)...
6 gig ram
i've only had the computer since yesterday, tough i have been on it practically nonstop except for a small sleep break. maybe it will goo away in a few days - if not then i'll panic. doesn't sound like anything alarming from the responses in this thread so far.
oh ok.
i haven't done a "Set up Backup" yet. just got the computer. maybe if i do that there will be less churning because maybe it's compensating for me not having backed up anything yet? i have no idea. i'm talking out my ass :)
yes it does.
here is a screenshot of resource monitor. i erased some stuff so you can't see any personal info. i have Steam running and another app, but that's about it other than chrome.
the computer is a Dell but i didn't see any bloatware on there. i uninstalled McAfee and put in...
not sure how to describe this sound: it's like the sound at the beginning of bootup where it sounds like it's reading/writing. problem is that the sound continues the whole time computer is on. it's kinda like a gurgling sound.
the hard drive is Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 1TB 7200 RPM and...
i admit the tone of my post was semi-trollish but my purpose was to get responses to justify my interest in building a new rig for gaming. i've been playing consoles for 4 years but was a PC gamer for like 15 before that. i wanted to see if pc gaming was still great and worth it and why i...
so true. BF1942 (DC mod or not) was just so fun. Since then new BF games just seem too techy and fast. there was a simplicity to BF1942 that made it so fun. plus you had to get closer to your enemies to kill them. none of this up in a jet shooting at dots on the ground stuff.
and there was...
I'm receiving a Inspiron 620 with a i5-2400 cpu in a few days and am going to upgrade the 6450 vid card it comes with to a Radeon 6870.
can i try out the new card with the 300w psu for a few days of gaming or do i risk damaging the computer because of the 300w psu? i know nothing about this...
