Athlon 1GHz w/ overheat problems

62c is still high. My 1000>1181 is only 50c after hours of Q3 and UT. On your ATX machine, make sure you have at least 1 fan in the front blowing in and 1 fan in the rear blowing out. Definitely Arctic silver 2, bet. your heatsink and processor. And make sure they didn't sell you an overclocked...

DMA won't enable for my Toshiba DVD 16x drive under win2k

Have you tried installing the Via 4-in-1 drivers? That is if you have a Via chipset.

How fast can cable go?

With my cox@home, it's between 2000-3700kbps downstream and 90-256kbps upstream.

GeForce3 running at AGP 1X??

When you installed your Via 4-in-1 drivers, you didn't pick the turbo mode. Most likely, you picked the other one which automatically set your agp to 1x. Un-install it and re-install and choose Turbo mode.

Kingmax 256MB PC150 memory ?

I have Kingmax PC150 384mb in my computer running at 140mhz @2-2-2. A lot of people are running it stable at 150mhz! I'm still working on getting my cpu up to 150mhz. You won't be sorry. They are as good or better than crucial and other top brand memories.

Help on Quake3 and fps?

To run Q3 demo, go to the main menu and press ~, type timedemo 1, enter, type demo demo127. After the demo, press ~ again to find your FPS. To find fps for UT, during the game, press ~, type timedemo 1, press ~ again. I know there's a way to run the UT demo, I did it before, I just forgot.

Your findings with the 12.41 drivers?

My 3dMark 2001 score is 3437. My Q3 and UT fps also went up. To get "coolbits" to work on your Det. 12.41, copy the Nvqtwk.dll and nvcpl.dll from Det 12.60, then put it in your windows/system. Specs: A7V133 / Rev 1.04 / Bios 1005 AMD Athlon T-Bird 1000>1190 (140*8.5) Vcore = 1.75...

A7V133 doesn't recognize ATA 100

Geforces all capped at 60 frames in UT using Direct3D, any ideas?

Check your settings and follow sugadaddy's suggestion. What's your system anyways? I can play UT at 98-105 fps on my TB Athlon 1133mhz, Elsa Geforce2 GTS @1024x768x32. I have my monitor at 85hz, vertical sync disabled.
