3D Rendering build enquiry

You seem to have a lot of components already... are you upgrading? If so, and it's anything from the last 5 years that has 4 or more threads, don't bother. Save your money. Otherwise looks like you have a really solid build. Best of luck!

No frills x99 board?

ECC prices scared me away from the workstation boards. Also seems like the workstation boards lag a bit in features (number of USB ports, M.2, Alpine Ridge, etc.). I know, I'm picky. Squeezing every feature I can get for my $$ Seems like the x99 is a good workstation board for a single proc...

I dunno... that Asus X99-A II has a lot of terrible reviews on the egg. Not sure what to make of that... surprised even, given that it's Asus.

No frills x99 board?

Do they exist? I don't want LED lighting, triple SLI or WIFI. I'm not going to overclock, not even a little. Do want newer features like USB latest, etc. Could someone recommend me a good boring old x99 board... want to throw a 6800k in it.

Windows 10 progressively unstable and then fine

I think you win the chicken dinner. I replaced my PSU a couple of weeks ago and haven't had a crash since. Nothing. Rock solid. My guess is that it was getting old (5 or 6 years old).

Worth it. In professional, non-enterprisey work environments MBPs are 90% of what I see in use. For the consumer you can't beat the customer service.
