firefox download manager

i downloaded a file partially, stopping it midway, and then from firefox's download manager i did a - right click,"remove from list". the file disappeared from the folder. is there any way of getting the file back?

how do i revert from the new kernel(2.6.22.10.tex1) to the original one(2.6.18.8.tex5), can i do it in just from the grub.

ok so i downloaded Linux 2.6.22.10.tex1 kernel from synaptic and now the grub says it cant find the file vm-linuz-2.6.22.10.tex1. help!!!

visual c# 2005 or visual c# 2008 beta 2?

yup. there is actually alot of 2008beta2 support on msdn. i just didn't see it before. so i'm going with visual c# express 2008. yehaaa!

thanks for the advice. flegman has a good point, most of the material available now is for vs2005, and i'll need alot of learning material, so i'll start with vs2005 and move over to vs2008 when its final and has adequate documetation and learning tools.

8500gt power consumption

what is the power consumption of the 8500gt 256mb card, idle and under load? they say the 8800gtx can reach 320W under load which makes me want to vomit! the rest of the system will be a c2d e4400, p945 mobo, 2*512mb ram, 1 ide 80gb, 1 sata 160gb. so how much would i need on the 12V...

can't delete vista files in xp

help! i can't delete 8gb of vista files from xp. the message is "access denied", and i cant change the "read only" attribute because it won't let me. applications like "dellater"and "move on boot" are no good because there are alot of files to delete.

strange boot up problem

square wave voltage stabilizer

my psu, monitor and modem are plugged into a voltage stabilizer which gives off square waves. does this pose a problem in the long or short term.

harddrive problem

at bootup it recognises the harddisk but stops at: ultra-dma-5, smart capable, status ok at this point it does not move forward. it's an 80gb seagate 7200rpm ide drive. i am also not allowed to go into setup at bootup. i am currently using anothe hdd, so nothing is wrong with the bios.

shrinking a partition in vista

i'm using the auslogic defragmenter(3rd party) for vista. it shows you a visual. the built in shrinker works fine, but i need to shrink the partition more than it's allowing me to, and from the visual i can see there's lots of space between the 2 blocks of data.
