I build a new PC every 3-4 years. It's time for a new one, and I haven't kept up with the latest hardware technology. Here is what I use it for:
Dual 24" Dell Widescreen Monitors (1920x1200) - Video card must have dual DVI
Casual Gamer, but I'd like to be able to play the latest RTS and FPS...
Now I'm even more confused. I re-installed the Xvid codec and the the problem went away. I tried playing another video and it came back. So I re-installed the xvid codec again and it work.
So now instead of having to reboot everytime, I just need to re-install xvid. What could be causing this?
I downloaded a few TV episodes to watch on my computer but they won't play smoothly. There isnt huge jerkyness, but it just isn't smooth.
The only way I can get the files to play smoothly is if I play a video right after I reboot without trying to run any programs. It will play perfectly when...
I dont need to game at 1920x1200. Playing at 1280x1024 is fine. Will my 2405FPW recognize the game at that resolution and apply the black bars?
I also dont mind having one lcd on VGA, and the other on DVI. The performance and appearance is minimal right?
Ive been looking at a 6600 GS with...
That makes sense and explains why VGA is working.
Now to my next question. Can you recomend a good AGP card that will be able to power two 2405FPWs thats under $250?
I have a 9700 pro that I've been using for dual LCD monitors. I've tried using the DVI port numerous times, but it doesnt work on any LCDs. The strange part is that if I use a DVI-VGA adapter on that port, it will work with a VGA cable.
So obviously the port is able to send out the signal...
How does this card look?

I know some people are predicting the Canadian Dollar to pass the American Dollar by the end of the year, but this seems a little odd.
I just got a Dell 2405FPW and love it! I want to get a second one but I'm not sure which video card to get. Here is the problem:
I currently have the 24" and an 18" LCD hooked up to my 9700 pro through DVI and VGA. I would like to get a video card that has dual DVI but I'm not sure if there...
Re-installed driver... no luck.
mchammer187: How do you figure that its the video card? By using the adapter that plugs in to the DVI port on my video card, doesnt that prove that the DVI is working on my video card?
Auric: I tried searching on Dell forums for DVI issues but couldnt find any...
