Well generally speaking, this problem is directed more towards card's heat issues more than anything else.. i have come across this problem quite a few times now and i can assure you, every single time, my card's temps would have shot up by more than 85 deg.. so i would suggest you to monitor...

Can you SLI 2 different nVidia cards?

Will i be able to put 8800Gt and 9800GT in SLI? I heard that the later is just a refresh of 8800GT is that true?

Then there is no way i can do clean install of vista? considering that the laptop came with tons of bloatware on it? it is really PIA for guys like us who would like to dual boot with xp or something.. what should one do in such situation?
