I did notice a performance increase with the fx-55... but I didn't leave it in long enough to do any tests except for the super pi test... 2M took 1:31 with a bunch of crap running in the background... I should be able to cut that down some if I clean up some apps.
It is a little warmer...
Yep, zv6000 uses standard s939 desktop CPUs. Looks like I can get all the single core CPUs to work.. well up the the FX-55... Now trying the Dual-Core X2s...
I am now trying to get a 3800+ X2 to work on the zv6000... So far I only get ONE CORE working... I have tried all the different BIOSs up to F.1C, reinstalled XP, REGEDIT. Any Ideas?

I don't think they made a .18micron(180nm) FX-55... (but hey I have been know to be wrong too) The FX-55 that I am using is the newer San Diego Core .09micron(90nm). I works very well in the zv6000...

I tried a 3800+ X2... Works ... kinda.. only shows one core... Tried all the different BIOSs, XP reinstall, Regedit,etc..... Looks like the only way X2 will work on the zv6000 - if HP releases a new BIOS > F.1C

I installed the FX-55 in my zv6000... and it worked!:D although the bios setup indicates it is an 'Unknown CPU'. Windows XP booted perfectly. Windows and CPU-Z both recognize the CPU as an FX-55 @ 2.6GHz. I also have a 3800+ x2....hmmm should I try it.....
Has anyone tried to upgrade their HP zv6000 notebook computer with an AMD FX-55? I have a HP zv6000 with a 3500+(s939) and considering buying the AMD FX-55 as an upgrade.. Think it will work?
Thanks, Jason

I checked my Soyo rebate on the wireless router from March. I have been approved for my $50 since Aug 5 and still no check! Don't get too excited until you get that check cashed!
You can get GPS for pretty much any PalmOS or PPC. I have GPS for my Sony Clie TJ37 and it is great! The old version of Mapopolis(PalmOS 3.x) I find is better than the PalmOS5 version. I bought my GPS for ~$100US
I have a Sony Clie TJ37. It has WiFi, MP3, 310K digital camera, and Palm OS. It is great and you can get them pretty cheap. It was only $300 Canadian ~$230US. The unit itself is the same size as a wallet. I am a long time user of Palm OS. I perfer Palm OS over Pocket PC because of ...
