Looks like this card is a 4 pipe card :(
The x1600 jumps up to 12 pipes (and 16 for the x1800)
Is it safe to assume this card is a worse performer than the x700?
Ok, got it to work just fine.
And since this is the Hot Deals forum, I just got a Dell e1505, dual core with sxga and a 256mb x1400 for $903 shipped (with dvd burner too, i should add i guess). Could have shaved another $18 using the Preferred account.
Just need a quick answer, can someone tell me if the $30 off $300 coupons on ebay can be combined with other $ off coupons (for example the $450 of $1500)? It looks like they cannot but people seem to use them. Thanks!
I'm considering buying a used HP laptop that's about 6mo old. Does anyone know if the warranty on something like this is transferrable? If the unit has unforseen problems, I'd like to be able to have it taken care of under warranty.
Can someone explain to me what the FireGL and Quadra cards used in "business class" laptops are all about?
And while we're on the subject... what is the major difference between, say, Latitude and Inspiron laptops? Do Latitudes have a stronger frame or are they more durable?
Most modern laptops I see nowadays have exceptionally bright displays (when plugged in). My older laptop (omnibook 6000 p3) is like half the brightness. Will any laptop display eventually wear out and be as dim as mine or have these things improved over the years in such a way that they will...
I agree, I'd bet this is a move to 'de-tune' the 1705 to redirect buyers to the XPS line. This was an unbeatable combo for the price.
Isn't the x1400 just an update of the x300 incorporating SM3 (or whatever) and the "bus ring" technology? I think it's a 4 pipeline card.
I'm in the market...
