is there any way to fix a broken RAID 0 stripe?

Is it possible to use Nortgon Ghost to backup the contents of a RAID-0 array. Could it be restored when you replace the bad disk? thanks

Can I use a full 160GB HD on a Promise Ultra66?

It doesn't support it. However, their new cards are so cheap nowadays, I think you can get a ATA-133 controller for as little as $20. If you're really desperate, get a Silicon Image card off ebay for as little as $9. They aren't bad at all. P.S. I know it's a different situation and all, but...

Want to try using linux, but what type?

redhat or mandrake. Slackware is the best IMO, but stay away from it till you're more comforatable in the Linux environment. I used to dislike Redhat, but I kinda think their latest distro (9.0), is one of their best yet. Linux isn't necessarily a replacement for Windows (maybe macintosh), but...

Seagate Hard Drives

we use the V's at my office, I use the 7200.7 in my webservers raid array at home. Have found virtually no difference and, while I haven't exactly taken DB(a) tests, the 7200.7 seemed quieter even though I removed the shell from my server case.

Where in the bios does max HD size supported exist?

EZ-Bios should work. Ask him if he's getting some kind of error when running it. EZ-Bios should be located on the diskette that came with the drive or can be downloaded from the manufacturers website.
