MSI K8N Neo hung at Platinum screen (pre-post)

I bought 3 1g sticks of Transcend pc-2700 RAM. One of them was bad (and just happened to be in the pair that I opened first). It caused this exact problem. I thought the memory (brand) wouldn't work with the board, but in the end the other two sticks worked just fien ad the bad stick wouldn't...

Extend internal wireless range on laptop?

Yes, get a wireless router (can be had for like $35 at www.NewEgg.com), plug into that with a cable (your lappie have a cable connector?), then use the antenna of that to connect the pringles antenna and aim at the campus. You could even buy TWO of the wireless routers, connect them together...

Need a laptop reccomendation

I second the R3000Z. I looked at that and almost bought one. Ended up with the EMachines m6805 which I LOVE but it is a bit more expensive, but more stuff for the $ as well. Got mine for $1500-$250 rebate + service package for just over $1500 - above your $1300 limit.

Advice wanted! Best laptop for $2000

There is no such thing as "best" without an explanation of what you want it for. I am a developer, I need a big screen, big hard drive, fast video, fast processor, large memory. I have to "tote" my laptop to clients but I am not on the go from class to class for example or running through...
